A yaw damper is a key component in modern rail systems, used to control side-to-side rotational movement of the vehicle around its vertical axis, improving stability, comfort, and safety, especially at high speeds or in curves. Vertical dampers absorb vertical motions caused by irregularities in the track, helping to improve ride comfort and ensure consistent wheel-to-rail contact. Horizontal dampers, meanwhile, manage lateral movement, especially in curves or at high speeds, contributing to greater vehicle stability and reducing the risk of derailment.
